This policy describes the current limited beta and should be reviewed before a public App Store release.
BudgetCart is a meal-planning and grocery-shopping app for iPhone. This policy explains what information the beta uses, why it uses it, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
You may provide household size, ZIP code, meal and cuisine preferences, dietary restrictions, must-have meals, store choices, pantry amounts, manual grocery prices, checkout totals, saved plans, and meal feedback. Beta testers may also send support messages directly to us.
How the app uses information
BudgetCart uses this information to create menus and recipes, organize grocery lists, estimate basket and meal costs, remember pantry carryover, save plans, and improve the beta experience.
Where information is processed
Most saved app information is stored locally on your iPhone. Requests needed to create or revise a plan are sent over an encrypted connection to BudgetCart's hosted backend. When AI planning is enabled, relevant planning details may be sent by the backend to an AI service provider to produce the requested menu. Do not enter secrets or highly sensitive personal information into free-text fields.
Pricing and store information
BudgetCart may use clearly labeled mock prices, prices you enter manually, or a mixture of both. Store searches and price information may involve service providers. Prices and availability must be verified with the retailer.
Retention and deletion
Saved plans, pantry amounts, shopping progress, checkout information, preferences, and feedback stored on the device remain there until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the beta may delete locally stored information. Limited server logs may be retained for security, reliability, and usage-limit enforcement.
Sharing
BudgetCart does not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the beta, when you direct us to share an exported file, or when required by law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a limited beta, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children
BudgetCart is not directed to children under 13, and children should not submit personal information through the app.
Your choices and contact
You can limit what you enter, remove locally saved data through available app controls, or stop using the beta. For a privacy question or deletion request, email support@mybudgetcart.com.
